The Women in Business Mentorship Program hosted its second online workshop this Wednesday, September 17, 2025, focusing on Online Presence and Digital Tools. The session was facilitated by Susanne Roelofsen Afum, Managing Director of CEO Africa, together with Rhodalove Aba Baidoo, junior consultant at CEO Africa, and moderated by Tracy Abbey Mensah, Project Manager of Women in Business.
This highly interactive session equipped mentees with practical strategies to boost their digital visibility, build credibility, and attract growth opportunities in today’s competitive marketplace.
Susanne and Rhodalove emphasized that in today’s business environment, a strong online presence is no longer optional — it is fundamental for visibility, credibility, and partnerships. She noted that even for businesses targeting international markets, investors and institutions routinely review digital footprints as part of due diligence. This makes authenticity, consistency, and professionalism critical for success.
The workshop also created space for mentees to reflect on their journeys:
Karrin Peprah-Boateng shared that the session shifted her mindset, showing that entrepreneurs don’t need to “have it all together” before establishing an online presence.
Joyce Inkoom highlighted how a 90-day content challenge helped her double her LinkedIn followers in just three weeks, underscoring the impact of consistent engagement.
The facilitators provided a toolkit of digital strategies, including:
LinkedIn Optimization: Crafting compelling personal and company profiles, sharing authentic brand stories, and highlighting certifications (such as FDA approvals) to inspire trust.
Content Strategy: Posting consistently, creating visually appealing designs with tools like Canva, and including “where to buy” posts to drive conversions.
WhatsApp Business: Setting up dedicated numbers, using catalog features for direct ordering, and integrating WhatsApp with websites for seamless customer interactions.
Cross-Platform Integration: Linking WhatsApp catalogs to Instagram and Facebook, running affordable targeted ads, and boosting posts strategically for wider reach.
AI & Digital Tools: Leveraging ChatGPT for drafting posts, captions, and content calendars to save time while maintaining quality.
Google Business Profile: Enhancing credibility by adding business locations, encouraging customer reviews, and improving visibility on search engines.
Many mentees, including Esther George, expressed immediate action plans such as revamping their LinkedIn pages and optimizing their WhatsApp Business accounts. The group also agreed to support one another by sharing social media handles in a common Google Sheet, to promote mutual collaboration, following, and engagement.
The program continues to build momentum, with the next workshop set to focus on finance and pensions. Participants are encouraged to apply the digital tools discussed to strengthen their businesses ahead of future sessions.
